Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us when you use Badminton Tournament.
1. Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and [to be confirmed: registered legal entity], at [to be confirmed: registered address] — referred to below as "we" and "us". By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What the service is today
Badminton Tournament is a web application for running club badminton tournaments: entries, draws, court scheduling, live scoring and results. It is currently a free beta. Native mobile apps are still in development.
Being a beta means features may change, and you may encounter faults. We will be straightforward with you about limitations rather than hiding them.
3. Payments
We do not take payments. There is no checkout, no subscription and no fee collection on the platform. If a tournament charges an entry fee, the organiser sets and collects it themselves, entirely outside this service, under their own terms. We are not party to that arrangement and cannot refund it.
4. Your account
- You must be 18 or over.
- Give accurate registration details, and keep them current.
- Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what your account does.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
- Do not share or transfer your account.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights.
- Submit false or misleading information.
- Interfere with the service, or try to reach systems or data you are not entitled to.
- Harass, abuse or harm other people using the service.
6. Running and playing in tournaments
If you organise a tournament, you are responsible for the accuracy of its information, for running it fairly, for the safety of people at your venue, and for complying with the law where it is held. You are also responsible for the personal data of the people who enter it.
If you play in one, you agree to register truthfully, turn up for your matches, follow the tournament's rules, and treat officials and other players with respect. Unless the organiser states otherwise, the BWF Laws of Badminton apply and the umpire's decision on court is final.
Disputes about a tournament are between you and its organiser. We provide the software; we do not run the event and cannot adjudicate it.
7. Your content and tournament results
You keep ownership of what you submit. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to operate the service — for example, showing your name on a draw sheet.
Tournament results are published as a public record of the competition. You can control the visibility of your own player profile, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may remove content that breaches these terms.
8. Your data
How we handle personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Availability and liability
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or fault-free, and we may change or withdraw features.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a tournament organiser's or participant's conduct. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Because the service is currently free, no fees have been paid to us, and any liability cap will be set as part of the pending legal review.
10. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
After closure, results from tournaments you have already played remain part of the tournament record, anonymised — see the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell registered users by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first at legal@badmintontournament.club — most things are resolved that way. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be referred to [to be confirmed: arbitration forum].
13. Contact
